My posts are fashionably late. GETIT? Actually guys I just have GCSE's to be getting on with.

London Fashion week.
I don't quite know what to say, except that personally LFW this year has been a dissapointment, okay there was some great collections from the likes of, Burberry, Cristopher Kane, Vivienne Westwood, but honeslty you wouldn't expect anything less from them but great, I just thought although many describe LFW one of the liveliest or 'the place where you see fashion for what it really is' 'a place where fashion can take risks' I didn't feel the risks or the excitement. So for this post I am just doing what I thought was the best and possibly writing too much about them.

Burberry

WHO EVER COMPLAINED ABOUT WINTER!!!!
I seem to remember I did, until I saw what LFW had to offer, and please Jesus Moses and Buddha may winter never end. Just so I can pretend I am wearing any piece from the Burberry collection. The coats where the center I would say of the collection, and they where amazing, they are like the new aviator jacket, the last one I would say being as far back a Balenciaga 06, I loved the double collar idea oh and and and that horse hair coat is so beautiful - okay this isn't particularly articulate is it, but I am tired and dissapointed with London. Burberry was amazing, the colour scheme was jungle explorer greens and horse hair browns with dashes of yellow to lighten things up which I think is perfect for winter, okay I'm jsut going to stop and go to bed and try and carry on in the morning.

Yeah the coats guys THE COATS

I would like a pair of thigh high python boots please oh and some buckle up burberry ugg heels please? Thanks.

Christopher Kane.

I really felt Christopher Kane did something different for AW, I loved the SS collection which was floaty and obviously attractive, but what he has done for this collection I think is amazing, he has kept it simple, with only two patterns, he has kept everything other than the patterns black, he has used a limited number of materials; all of this sounding seriously restricting, but he has pulled it off amazingly, although imediately looking at the collection I can't say I was drawn to it, after really looking at each peice and thinking about the collection I have grown to admire it, the fact he has kept it so simple I think was a good move on his part, I also think the way he has got two patterns that are totally different from one another almost contrasting each other is great even if that wasn't his intention, keeping the clothes simple the patterns are a lot more noticable, they become bold and in your face becoming memorable. I think Cristopher Kane really made this collection work and I thank him for not letting me loose all hope.

Mark Fast

Although these posts are meant to be the collections I loved of LFW I thought I should put in the collection I was possibly most dissapointed about. After only recently discovering Mark Fast and so quickly admiring him as a wonderful designer, I was so dissapointed to see his AW collection, although I still respect his contribution to fashion I feel his effort in creating something new for AW was only half hearted, I have tried to find the peices least like the ones already shown for SS and quite clearly it has been difficult, although as always so much skill goes into the clothes I don't think anybody could deny
that this collection in more ways than one was so similar to his last, I just feel that going into fashion you know what to expect and if someone like Karl Lagerfield can produce six collections for Chanel two for Karl Lagerfield and god knows how many for Fendi you would of thought one man could produce two and the important word is different collections, so yes I am dissapointed.

Todd Lynn

Todd Lynn was structured and angular, it had an almost star treck feel to it with some of the first peices, and moved onto a more Jaberwocki star wars feel towards the end with the fur shoulder pads. As you can tell I am a sci fi fan guys. No but I like Todd Lynn I thought it was interesting to watch and the clothes are beautiful, the colour was minimal but as I have said before I think this works when the collections very much focus around the cut and shape of the clothes, it felt like futuristic tribal clothing. Or am I the only one picking up on this? Yes, yes I think I am.

Vivienne Westwood

A friend of mine actually went to see this show but because of my lack of stealth I didn't manage to steal the tickets, but I like to believe I was there in spirit, I kind of went slightly mad when whatching Vivienne Westwood, not only because I am her NO1FAN but because I was so SO glad to see this collection, the woman is pure genius, her clothes are like works of art, they look so beautiful, in a kind of draged through a bush backwards sort of way, they are so VW it is unreal, and that is something I think is so wonderful about her, is that she has this style of clothes which always look great she uses material so perfectly to make the clothes hang and fold and drape so perfectly on her models, the work that goes into her collections is so obvious in the clothes and you can just see the love and passion she puts into it, this collection like all her others was wonderful, there was such a range of looks some very tailord and some her iconic bagy draped material dresses, there was so much colour and life in her clothes this year too, they where exciting and fun to look at. I am so glad Vivienne Westwood has stayed in London.

Now onto what looks like a groundbreaking Milan.
